Far too many People
“Hear what they want to hear – And disregard the Rest”
This phrase shows the great partisan divide and how blind hatred and ludicrous vitriolic hyperbole is manifested by empty words, spoken for “Elitisms” (rhetoric guised as superior) that, once examined – Rings Truly Hollow. For which illustrates Freedom of Speech’s contrary ability to disregard the Truth by way of false labels – That Insidiously Harm – rather than Improve Humanities too often forlorn and most Promising Goals of Goodness, and Truth through Hopefully Substantive Honesty by way of our Freedom of Thought and Speech…
Or too be far more succinct: To Quote George Bernard Shaw, a Literary Nobel Laureate:
“Truth can be turned Inside Out, like a Glove.”
This Quote is correct, as we live in a world where Demagogues persuade via the Emotions, Passions, Prejudices and Immaturity of others to self-serve themselves and
their equally ignorant and/or selfish values.
If you continue to read my rhetoric beyond this point, you will see why I believe that “Kindness.” and “Common Sense,” are necessary for Empirical and Rational based thought. So fundamental to our future; to our every moment…
As well as to Freedom and Empirical, not Subjective Truth…
Otherwise, I believe humanity will dismantle the fundamental Values of Goodness and Truth’s Essential Circumstanced/Nuanced Balance: Between Right and Wrong.
Thus: To only Hear what we want to hear – And Disregard the Rest…
Such a maxim, will implicitly only breed totalitarians, doomed to be victims of self-serving Ignorance rather than self-growth via the rigors of Knowledge.
To Quote Socrates:
“The only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance.”
As I reflect on these sentiments written above: I Summarize them as follows:
“Humanities Common Purpose – our Common Good, is born not by factional division but by way of “Empathy hence Understanding.”
Always cherish these: Intellectually and/or emotionally.
And Goodness will be improved for All…“
